School-wide Positive Behaviour Support
School-wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) is a framework that brings our school community together to develop a positive, safe, and supportive learning culture.
SWPBS is an evidence-based framework which is used in schools worldwide. When implemented well, teachers and students have more time to focus on relationships and classroom instruction, optimising learning and feelings of connections within the school community. Staff and students benefit from:
Increased respectful and positive behaviour
Increased time focused on instruction
Improved social and emotional wellbeing
Positive and respectful relationships between students and staff
A predictable learning environment
Students who display positive behaviours aligned with the school values RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY, RESILIENCE, RELATIONSHIPS, and RIGOUR are acknowledged through the house points system. They receive house points that accumulate on Compass and students can use their house points to redeem either tangible items or experiences offered at school.
How to redeem house points
Students can redeem their house points by visiting Ms Shannon in the Wellbeing HUB, or emailing housepoints@bundoorasc.vic.edu.au!
We encourage students to keep an eye on the Compass news feed for house point updates, changes to what can be redeemed, and upcoming events that house points can be used to attend. Updates and opportunities will also be shared via PAL and assemblies.
Parents can stay in the loop by reading the weekly ‘What’s On’ published on Compass.
