School tours

Empowering a lifelong love of learning, to thrive in a rapidly changing world.

Prospective students and their parents, carers and guardians are warmly invited to attend a school tour at Bundoora Secondary College and experience the BUNDOORA difference firsthand.

Our guided tours provide an opportunity to explore the college, learn about our teaching and learning approach, and gain insight into the programs, pathways, and support available to students. Tours are led by school leadership and offer visitors the chance to ask questions and better understand how we support students to thrive academically, socially, and personally.

Empowerment Model

Our flexible three-stage Empowerment model — Entry, PACE21 and Graduates — allows students to choose subjects aligned with their interests and strengths, supported by a dedicated PAL mentor guiding academic progress and wellbeing. High-ability students can access acceleration and enrichment across academics, sport, and music. Grounded in our values of Respect, Responsibility, Resilience, Relationships, and Rigour, we nurture confident, capable learners prepared to thrive in school and beyond.

REACH

REACH offers high-ability academic pathways for students who are curious, independent and ready to take ownership of their learning at a faster and deeper pace. From Entry (Year 7) through to VCE, these pathways nurture confidence and agency within a supportive, aspirational learning environment.

Students can engage with REACH pathways at different points in their educational journey. Not every student commences REACH at Entry, although that option exists; access is guided by readiness, evidence and personalised pathway planning. Students may access extension, early VCE and university pathways, and benefit from partnerships with Swinburne Children’s University, CHES, Deakin University, the University of Melbourne and the Alpine School of Leadership.

This flexible and personalised approach allows students to access multiple learning pathways and opportunities. REACH intentionally develops the same advanced capabilities prioritised by high-ability programs across Victoria, supporting students to thrive academically while building independence, agency and confidence. Is BSC the right fit for your student?

Bundoora Secondary College practises a unique Empowerment approach to learning, designed to accelerate and extend students through our vertical learning model and integrated, inquiry‑focused deep learning electives.

During school tours and our annual Open Night, you’ll learn more about how this empowerment approach provides students with greater autonomy and rewards learners who are curious, organised, and ready to take ownership of their learning.

While the PAL program intentionally develops and strengthens these skills in every student, those who genuinely flourish and take full advantage of the opportunities offered are independent, self‑motivated learners who can effectively manage their time and responsibilities.

We encourage families to carefully reflect on whether this style of learning is the right fit for your student before submitting an enrolment application.

Choosing the right school is an important decision, and if you have any questions about whether BSC is right for your student, we welcome the opportunity to speak with you.
