Get involved
We warmly invite you to become part of the Bundoora Secondary College community! We are committed to BSC being a place where every person feels welcome.
Together, we can help make BSC the best possible environment for staff, students and families to thrive in every way possible!
Canteen
Join our team of valued volunteers who provide healthy meals for our hungry students. Our Canteen Manager welcomes all parents and carers who can spare a couple of hours once a term.
Friends of the farm
Our school depends on family involvement to support our outstanding Farm and Environment Program. This group offers a wonderful opportunity for parents to connect while contributing to the success of this dynamic program through fundraising and assisting with a range of activities throughout the year.
Working bees
Working bees are held throughout the year, usually on Sundays from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm. Morning tea and a BBQ lunch are provided. Dates will be shared via Compass as events are scheduled.
School Council
The School Council and its subcommittees meet monthly and this decision-making body—made up of parents and carers, teachers, and students—requires commitment and a genuine interest in the school’s welfare and policies across various areas. The School Council is responsible for setting the school’s strategic direction and overseeing its finances. Opportunities to join the School Council and its subcommittees are offered at the start of each year through Compass communication.
Parents & Friends
The Parents & Friends Association (P&F) group at Bundoora Secondary College is made up of dedicated volunteer parent, carer and teacher representatives. Together, we actively look for practical ways to enrich the educational experience of our students—both socially and academically.
Some of our discussion points and activities include:
Addressing issues such as cyber bullying and online safety
Donating $10,000 to the music department for new instruments
Securing a government grant to equip the Breakfast Club, supporting student welfare and families
Organising fundraising events throughout the year, including the annual Bunnings BBQ
Sponsoring the Peter Kidby STEM Scholarship Award
Raising significant funds through the Presentation Ball and Formal, reinvesting back into the school community
The P&F warmly welcomes any parent and carers interested in supporting the education and wellbeing of our students. Members are active contributors—not passive observers—helping with a wide range of activities and working closely with the School Council, Principal, and teachers. It’s also a great way to connect with other parents and be part of our school community.
Meetings
P&F meet on the first Monday of each month during term at 6:30 pm in the staff meeting room.
We’re always looking for new members. If you’re available and willing to participate (even in a small way), please email us at pandf@bundoorasc.vic.edu.au.
Be a part of the BUNDOORA difference!
