BYOD Acceptable Use And Support Agreement

At Bundoora Secondary College, we are committed to ensuring all members of our school community have access to safe and inclusive learning environments, including digital and online spaces. This agreement outlines the school’s roles and responsibilities in supporting safe digital learning, as well as the expected standards of behaviour for students when using digital and online technologies.

At Bundoora Secondary College, we:

  • Maintain a Student Wellbeing and Engagement Policy that outlines the school’s values and expected standards of student conduct, including consequences for breaches. These expectations apply to both on‑site and online behaviour.

  • Deliver programs that educate students to be safe, responsible, and respectful users of digital technologies.

  • Provide information and guidance on digital access issues, including online privacy, intellectual property, and copyright.

  • Supervise and support students when using digital technologies in the classroom.

  • Implement clear protocols and procedures to protect students in online environments. This includes reviewing the safety and suitability of online tools and communities, promptly removing offensive content, and applying other appropriate safeguards.

  • Provide a filtered internet service to help block inappropriate content, while acknowledging that complete protection cannot be guaranteed.

  • Use online platforms and digital tools that directly support student learning.

  • Respond to issues or incidents that may impact student wellbeing.

  • Refer suspected illegal online activity to the appropriate law enforcement authorities for investigation.

  • Support parents and caregivers to understand the safe and responsible use of digital technologies, including strategies that can be implemented at home. There are resources provided from the Department of Education and Training and the Children’s eSafety Commission at the end of this document.
