SCHOOL WIDE
POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR
School Wide Positive Behaviour system
School-Wide Positive Behaviour support (SWPBS) is a framework that brings our school community together to develop a positive, safe, and supportive learning culture.
SWPBS is an evidence-based framework which is used in schools worldwide. When implemented well, teachers and students have more time to focus on relationships and classroom instruction, optimising learning and feelings of connections within the school community. Staff and students benefit from:
-
Increased respectful and positive behaviour
-
Increased time focused on instruction
-
Improved social and emotional wellbeing
-
Positive and respectful relationships among students and staff
-
A predictable learning environment
Our School Wide Positive Behaviours are aligned to our school values; the 5 R's.

Students who display the positive behaviours (school values, the 5 R's) are acknowledged through the house points system. For example, if a student demonstrates resilience, they will receive house points on Compass. Students use their house points to redeem either tangible or experiences offered by the school.

How to redeem House Points

Students can redeem their house points by visiting Ms Shannon in the HUB, or by emailing housepoints@bundoorasc.vic.edu.au! They should monitor the Compass news feed for updates, changes to what you can redeem and upcoming events, and listen out for announcements of exciting things to come when in PAL classes or assemblies. Parents can also stay in the loop of things to come by reading the weekly ‘What’s On’ published on Compass.

"I enjoyed the pizza lunch because I was with my friends Emily, Emma and Kallen. The process to trade in the house points for it was very easy, because all I had to do is tell Georgia that I wanted to do the pizza lunch, and she traded in my house points! The pizza was very good, multiple flavours was great for what people eat. I had a chicken one and margarita. I’m looking forward for the Fun Fields excursion at the end of the year, as it will be hot and a good time to go!" - Maria
