The transition from primary to secondary schooling can be a difficult one and demands our full attention. The major reason for this is that the needs of young adolescents in the middle years of schooling, years five to nine, are not best met by a major change in their schooling. Throughout these years young adolescents need stability, safety and security, connections to significant adults and a challenging, engaging curriculum that, taken together, enables them to fully develop as learners.
